To look up a location in ADSB Exchange:

This is bookmarklet. Unzip the attached file, then make a bookmark, edit it, and copy the contents of the file into the URL, like:

Did you try downloading the "uncorrected" track?

I think for Mode-S tracks, the EGM96 and EGM96+baro avg tracks will be empty but the uncorrected one will still have data. At least this is what I have noticed in the past. I now download all 3 when I'm doing something, just in case.

Aha.

I think that with relatively recent KMLs it might be just guaranteed to have the uncorrected KMLs, and trying to download the Geometric or baro+ tracks will sometimes give an empty track.
