A rough match of the footage to the full field of view of the camera:
At half speed (15 fps) to see the motion better, original time stamped at the bottom (I'll refer to this as the time).
Note that:
- The clips before and after the cut at...
She posted another video taken at the same time showing a cop car:
This shows similar patterns of reflections, horizontal and diagonal.
Although here the horizontal reflections are in a different direction - which suggests maybe it's related...
Len protector hypothesis seems plausible. I replicated the triple reflection from a bright light, and it vanishing when changing lens.
No reflections:
A second later, reflections
My temporary "lens protector"
@flarkey noted it's an iPhone
Hypothesis: she zooms in slightly when it's hidden by the tree, changing to a lens with a slightly angled lens protector on it, that causes the two horizontal reflections.
This gives what I called an "offset...
Givent the vertical format, that would mean a camera with three lenses horizontally (when held vertically), like the Google Pixel 7 Pro

This year, Google's using a 48MP 5x optical zoom lens, and it's mighty impressive. Between 2x and...
I think both the the exposure and the light intensity (maybe direction) might change as it traverses the tree.

Impressive! Looks like they are manually aligning with two stars at the start. They identify two starlink flares, linked in their comments, but at those points the alignment seems off.
Wow o_O -- The webcam that started this flap now has a live synchronised feed with a Stellarium overlay. It even has linked timecodes to Starlink Flare observations.

Yeah, I was all "plane" based on what looked like "nav lights." Until I saw the reflections, and then I looked closer at the later lights that showed though leaves and branches and it seemed more like a drone. There's other issues with the plane...
Yeah, sorry, I took that photo from a long distance with a zoom lens, so the perspective is compressed (i.e. there's less perspective) Still there though, as you note.
No, I'd just need the camera closer.

I originally thought this was a plane, because of the configuration of lights. The "triangle" shape seemed just to be reflections.
But then I noticed when it emerged from behind the tree, all the lights except...
Hello, Big fan of the Gimbal rotation of a glare demonstration you guys did, pretty conclusive and has bought many literally back down to earth. I then found it very telling that Lou Elizondo seemed to have no clue whatsoever of what a rotating...
Hello Mick, my name is Rob. I am an aerospace engineer turned mathematical/scientific software developer and I just finished listening to you speaking on Steve Hassan's podcast. As an aerospace engineer I have long been interested in the...
Yeah, I think the apparent appearance is dependent upon viewers location and the perspective they get of the satellites orbit. For example the flares in this example are mostly vertical, but in the Jimmy Church video the flares are all moving...
