Posting a ResolveSky.com simulation of the same event. It also shows most of the Starlink flares occurring near 10 degrees above the horizon and at an azimuth of ~75 degrees. So they appeared straight ahead, relative to their ship's heading...

Released helium balloons are a menace I find them all over the landscape when I am out, I see them drift past when I am on remote moors, retrieve them from hedges and streams and bin them when I can.

"Apparently behind" indeed. Personally, I just don't see it. The video is highly compressed, and I don't think it's possible to determine whether the light is actually behind the tree or not. There are simply too many other indicators...

My husband died with dementia, so I'm very familiar with some of the symptoms. What I find more telling than the language glitches are the several times recently that he has just wandered off to the point that someone has to go and direct him...

I don't know how much an empty balloon weights, but were it just 1 gram it's 21 tons of plastics scattered around each day :( . Littering at its best.

I'm seeing estimates that on the order of 21 million party balloons are sold and possibly released each day globally. Around 5 million each day in the U.S. The flight time depends on many factors, but flight time can range from an hour to...

Please forgive my source impropriety. I had multiple sources which do not agree, and took the lower counts and estimates as conservatively as I could. There are multiple discussions on the impact of helium shortages impacting volumes. IN...

I'm not sure it's a reliable source (Market Reports World website). On clicking the link I'm getting The report you are looking has been temporarily removed for updating or had its title changed. Looking through the claim (quotes?) in post #5...

I was sure I had heard a surprising comment on this topic on a podcast once so I did a little digging. https://www.metabunk.org/threads/debunked-man-captures-video-of-strange-explosion-in-the-sky-weather-balloon.1038/post-22714 Not being one to...
