a side note on NUFORC reporting locations When you submit the form looks like this, if you type Cody in you get the Google pin for the location which is always some point in the middle of the town This then shows as the point for the sighting...

Yeah I was wondering about recording device used, potentially he bought a night vision device which then allows non human eye visible sats to be seen. It would explain the aspect ratio as well. It looks like long exposure mobile phones though...

Another thing to note is the difference in the appearance of the video footage and the still photos. The original videos look like they were recorded using a mobile phone camera, but the still photos appear to have image enhancement effects...

It's worth pointing out, because I am not sure you read that bit that the original location used to match the still image from the news article, the one with the beacon I.e. this one, came from using US public records services and the reporters...

This Lane 40 is odd There is the Lane 40 in Basin like you say and that is close enough for it to be maybe the actual place The times and dates in the NUFORC videos match exactly for the direction of view for Starlink In vid1 from the 194754...

FWIW the light pollution in Cody, WY is categorized as Bortle 4 (https://www.lightpollutionmap.info/) This suggests a naked eye limiting magnitude (NELM) between 6 and 6.5 (https://www.handprint.com/ASTRO/bortle.html) So it's entirely possible...

It depends which ones he checked and what the settings were. Satellite trackers tend to show only those satellites that are illuminated by the sun, and visible to the naked eye, so at a magnitude greater than around 3. When you condider the...

The original article says... This is entirely in keeping with the seasonal nature of Starlink Flares - we can recreate the effect of the seasons in sitrec. The band around the earth shows where flares are visible in the direction of the sun...

The work of Jack Sarfatti was very well known to readers of sci.physics, and, by crossposting, sci.math, where I encountered it. The sane posters never wasted any time with his stuff, filing it in the not-even-wrong bucket almost immediately...

Puthoff's PhD is in electrical engineering, not physics. Where his theories have ventured into pure physics, they sometimes result in extraordinary claims and they have been criticized, e.g. Massimo Pigliucci called Puthoff's hopes to extract...

I don't know Sarfetti and Pais off the top of my head, but Puthoff is famous for believing that Uri Geller could bend spoons with his mind (rather than stage magic). Puthoff's judgment about what is (im)possible or not is clearly not reliable. A...
