These things demonstrate that a strong bias is present, but they don't necessarily undermine a study per se. They similarly don't disprove any findings without direct evidence that the findings are bunk. On the other hand, when such biases exist...

WIth that N, any kind of highly significant result, rather than being more convincing, would scream to me "terribly designed experiment that permits cheating (by tester or testee, it matters not)" - such powers would be oft noticed and well...
