At some point you'd think people would have learned not to take Elizondo's claims at face value. We've heard "overwhelming" evidence and extraordinary stories from him before, only for the actual evidence to remain unavailable, unexplained or far...

Another effect I noticed in the same flight is that the shadow of the plane was clearly visible, despite our height; it appears that my post earlier in this thread was misleading...

Yep. An interesting thought. A kite is an unpowered tethered aerodyne, in the short form. With a ballooning spider, I suppose we have a tether running up from the pilot/anchor to the... well, to the nothing. The tether is also the aerodyne... -
