UFO flickering coloured lights over Robertson, South Australia [Solved: LED Kites]

Limited information on this one. Flickering coloured lights were spotted in the sky north of Adelaide in Australia, at 8:45pm Saturday the 10th of August. Noting in the article that it was suggested that the lights were too high for a drone...

'(The lights) shine very bright then just disappear, only to reappear again.

'This was happening just left of and below the moon.'

The video captured a series of coloured lights flickering in the sky.

'We're not too sure what it could be,' a woman can be heard in the background.

'It's just really bizarre.'

I can confirm that there is a video that was circulated on Facebook but I cannot seem to find it.

FOCUS!!!

That's the most out-of-focus out-of-focus video I have seen in a very long time. Parts of the video frame also appear to have been deliberately fuzzed-out, as if to hide identifying landmarks or information displayed on the original video.

I wish that was in focus, it REALLY looks like LED lights on kites, with LEDs on a tail that sags down to the left. Frustratingly, it is impossible to see clearly enough to know.

Robertstown is near Adelaide:

and there is a major kite festival there

so it is a place that night flying of kites might be expected from time to time.

Edit to add: Querying Australian kite friends. We'll see.

To provide context the following comment was then added by a second individual apparently present at the time of the first video above:

We were out near Robberts town way last night . At 8.45pm we were watching two lights move up down left right, shine very bright then just disappear, only to reappear again ..
This was happening just the left of and below the moon ..

In the comments there is a second video by a different witness with a short statement:

This video has higher resolution and focus, two kites with flashing LED lights in their wings and tails are clearly visible e.g. at timestamp 00:50.

I wonder if the Daily Mail and other content farmers that have repeated this story will bother to revisit the source and correct the record? I think not.

Impressive! I am hopeful that I can track down the actual kite fliers, but that would just be a bit of swank, you've clearly shown that's what they are. Applause!

PS: That would be a good UFO to show to folks who believe out of focus lights are big translucent spheres/orbs, and the kites go in and out of focus several times...
