UAP Video in Bragança Paulista, Brazil - "The Moonlit Dolphin"

Case of UFO and Alien apparition in Bragança Paulista, São Paulo State, Brazil, in July 2021. Helenice Rodrigues and Jorge Uesu investigated it.
There is a mobile video recording of the alleged UFO / UAP.

Time: Between 20:00 and 20:15, 21st of July, 2021
Location: On an Undisclosed Gated Community in Bragança Paulista, São Paulo - Brazil
This is the Google image of the locale;

Overview: Rita, a Housemaid, goes into the backyard to gather herbs. She sees a strange, moon-colored, weirdly shaped craft, with a bassy metallic hum. It is located roughly 200 meters/220 yards away, not much higher than a local treetop. It had a concave belly below which was bright and seemed to have lightning inside. It appeared to She manages to use her mobile to record the sighting. She refers to the object as "nave", which means "craft". The craft appears to be changing its shape, which frightens her. The object allegedly parts one of its extremities like a "Dolphin's Mouth", as if something would come out - but nothing did. She then sees a being that appears to be made of red light across the street, around 1.80m/6 feet. It appears to be male due to the broad shoulders and chest, but it has no face, hands, or fingers. A car passes by and the being snatches "like a monkey" the vehicle's back for a short while, and then lets go. The car continues its trajectory as if nothing happened. The being lifts both arms around chest length, a movement that Rita interprets as either "I mean no harm" or "Do not proceed". The entity then walks with a hunched back, as if it was preparing to jump. She does not know how, but the being disappears. The UAP appeared to be closer and drifted towards the woods nearby. She went back inside to report to her employers, but nothing unusual was later seen. The employers heard the noise, which they thought to be the Pool's pump.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I find it better than most cases, especially with a video, albeit of dubious veracity.
The report is different enough - weirdly shaped craft and an uncommon type of entity seen when compared to the typical saucer/pill shaper UFO and Grey Alien.
Further investigation is needed, and I would love to hear your thoughts on how that craft was made.

Recent alleged ufology in Brazil has reported an increase in sightings of "beings made of Light" - most credulous case being the "Cláudio Invasion of 2008" - when several neighborhoods had a power outage while UAP's cruised by, and police officers allegedly chased and photographed UAPs and beings made of light.

At approx. 3 mins 21 secs into the first video, we are told about Rita showing her filmed footage to her employers:

But strangely the cell phone didn't record the humanoid.
To take a bit of a sceptical stance, this doesn't seem that strange in the context of UFO reports- we've seen other claims made on this forum where filmed evidence doesn't capture the most significant parts of a claim.

From approx. 10:46 into the first video, we are given some useful information (if it's correct) re. a "poste de luz ao fundo", a lamppost in the background.

We are told the 'craft' was about 200 metres away, just above the level of some nearby trees.
If this image representing Rita's view (but during the day) is correct the 'craft' would have appeared to have been not far above a nearby roofline, and not really above the nearest trees at all, but maybe seen through them.
I can't make out a street light (but that doesn't mean there isn't one there),

If there was an object there, maybe it was visible through that gap in the foliage, top-right of smaller rectangle in picture.

But this screengrab, also approx. 10 mins 46 into the video, supposedly shows light shining through the leaves (labelling by the makers of the two videos AFAIK, UFO enthusiasts:

So why isn't the sky/ 'clear' area around the claimed craft the same level of brightness as the light shining through the trees?
It seems very unlikely that there would be a gap in the leaves exactly the same shape as an object behind them (particularly if that object changes shape).

At the moment, I'm not sure the footage is shot through trees at all. I don't think we can exclude a hoax.

Weirdly shaped, because the video of it is through the trees, it's hard to see what's being filmed, so the description may be limited to what was seen that way. As for the alien not being a typical Grey, yeah but, you also said:

So, if true going back to the mid '00s there was an increase of luminescent beings being reported. That is, the idea of a glowing being may as part of the current Brazilian UFO zeitgeist as Greys are in the US. IF that's the case, Rita's alien fits in nicely and is not all that novel.

Note also this takes place in a gated condo community in what is probably a well to do part of Sao Palo and NOBODY saw anything? The car that passed by never noticed a glowing red humanoid and if they did, they didn't notice that it jumped on their car?

These kinds of cases boarder on magic. There is a strange looking video of something supposedly in the sky, I can't really tell, accompanied by an elaborate backstory that despite happening in a densely populated area, is experienced by a singular witness. Even when others are present, like the people in the car or the employers in the condo, they are not part of the experience.

In addition, there is the common UFO trope of the non-working cell phone/cameras:

The only thing the entity/glowing being/UFO "allowed" to be recorded was the ambiguous something through the trees.

Actual footage of the something in the trees starts at 03:33, the rest is just a comic style animation. But keep watching to see the OMG intro with UFOs, crop circles, aliens, chupacabras and wild men.

The manner in which the shape of the "object" changes reminds me very much of other videos where the effect was caused by a drop of water in the lens, especially how the shape changes as the background light source "moves" about drop (as the camera moves slightly) or the drop moves/changes shape I don't feel totally confident that this is what is being recorded, but it seems worth considering.

Edit to add: Somewhat similar phenomenon was illustrated in one of Mick's videos:

The "UFO" is seen here:

Mick's exploration of the water drop on lens hypothesis follows.

I want to clarify that the "UFO scene" in Brazil was fairly unaware of the Cláudio event until very recently due to a "Brazilian FOIA" request that was successful in 2021. The "Brazilian UFO Zeitgeist" is the Varginha Case, widely mocked and considered a national joke. Other cases that defy educated explanations like the Operação Prato and the 1986 Brazilian UFO incident are surprisingly unknown. There are few people interviewing witnesses, gathering stories and testimonies, and even fewer publishing them. Brazil is an underdeveloped country bigger than the continental United States and with far lower literacy, bad media literacy, and extremely poor levels of digital literacy.

Bragança Paulista is a city within the São Paulo State. It has around 180k inhabitants and most of its suburban areas are scarcely populated. This gated community is a new endeavor in its marginal area, still undergoing to this day. These enterprises are usually like Neighborhoods with vacant lots, houses under construction, and empty homes still waiting for a buyer. It wouldn't be a surprise if something happened and nobody else was there to see it. This part of the narrative is credible.

The car that passed by never noticed a glowing red humanoid and if they did, they didn't notice that it jumped on their car?
According to her, the driver behaved as if it couldn't see the creature, which is indeed a very lame storytelling trope.

The only thing the entity/glowing being/UFO "allowed" to be recorded was the ambiguous something through the trees.
Perhaps it's a mistranslation by Google's automated translation feature, but according to the video, she was frightened by the sudden aperture in the ""craft"" and stoped recording - that's when she realized there was this being on the other side of the road. She thought she managed to film the being, but wasn't able to "tap record" on the phone, like a missclick.

To me, this is where this case gets interesting.
The sight and sound are different from what I would expect to see someone attempt to hoax as a UFO - I also am fairly curious on how to replicate such visual effect.

The illustrations are pretty neat :)

I think there's a case to be made that you doing your best to debunk it based on narrative consistency and mistrust, which is absolutely fair. Many people lie without cause or reason, even without anything to be gained from such acts. The "Red Light Being" is impossible to be verifiable and will obviously remain as just a story like many others.

The "ambiguous something through the trees" is a video accompanied by testimony, and I would love to know how it could be hoaxed using practical effects.

Great catch!
Perhaps those shapes could be indeed the caustic of a drop of water from gathering the herbs, and she filmed the lamp post - which could have been using Halogen lamp bulbs, giving It that "golden" brightness.

Not trying to debunk it exactly, more just look at the claim and the problems I see. Single witness cases are difficult to completely debunk as we often never really know what the person saw or thought they saw, what they experienced or thought they experienced or their motivations. If it's one person's perceived reality, it can't really be debunked, though parts of it may be explained.

There is the video in this case, though as noted it's very amorphous and vague. That might be debunked if someone can recreate the effect and show that the camera was not pointed to the sky and trees at the time. If that happens, then the rest of the story falls apart. If not, it might remain one of many UFO claims made up of unsubstantiated stories and vague inconclusive photo/videos that do little to bolster the story.

I don't think that's even necessary anymore; Another user (JMartJr) suggested it could be caused by Caustics of light on water, and I believe that's it;

The shape of the 'Craft' changes according to the position of the lens; whenever Rita 'moves' the camera in a similar perspective as shown at other times in the video, the object assumes a similar shape. The audio spectrum is quite muffled, naturally causing distortion - it might be just the sound of the pool's pump or other machinery nearby. I believe it is, at best, a misinterpretation of an effect that could only be observed after it occurred. This would explain why she was only able to film the "craft" and not the "Light Being". Such creature could be just figments of imagination at best, and a mental disorder such as Schizophrenia at worst.

This could have been captured without malice, as gathering herbs does involve some moisture and she claims to be using the mobile's flashlight as a source of lighting to see in the dark. It is also entirely possible that Rita did film something she couldn't explain, and then """"""""""""enhanced"""""""""" her story to appear more fantastical.

It is possible that Rita turned on her phone's flashlight through the 'Flash' option in her camera app and observed such 'craft' only through her phone screen. The subsequent details could be attributed to a poor chain of information, misinterpretation of information, bad articulation/miscommunication, pathological lying, schizophrenia, and others.

PS: I love this forum.
