The "instant acceleration" video from the VCR era

I recently came across a YT video that someone on Reddit linked to, showing what is claimed to be a UFO in the Gulf Breeze flap demonstrating instant acceleration. He also linked to a video Mick made on it. While Mick's video offers one explanation, I think there is a much simpler one.

Now first off, I have not seen the original tape video, only the YouTube version, so my claims below are based entirely on that. And that's important, because the key bit is that the YT video is a video of a video. And that "new" video is rather odd... it's positioned such that only a portion of the original is visible at any time.

If one watches frame-by-frame, using the period and comma keys TIL, you can see that prior to "the main event", the object does not appear to be moving. Although it moves about the YT video, you can see that the new camera is also moving in the same direction, at least while the frame of the TV/monitor is visible. So my feeling is that this object is either completely stationary or close to it.

But then it apparently moves to the left. Does it though? I ask, because throughout the video you can see little white spots, as is often the case for VCR tapes of the era. But when the motion is happening, say on the 4th and 5th frames after the last frame where it is stationary, you can see similar white bits, but now they too are smeared out horizontally.

This is not the case on frame 3, where a small white dot is visible. In that frame, the object is also localized and not stretched out.

This may suggest all we are seeing is the original camera being rotated to the left.

Now this would be easy to see if we had anything else in the video to compare it with. For instance, in Mick's video we have trees and a fence. But nothing like that appears in this film.

It would appear at the bottom, but that part is cut off by the "new" cameraman. I'm sure this is just a coincidence.

I think a link to the video would be an essential step to getting this going...
