I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like every year they predict a really really really really real real bad winter. predicts cold winter&client=firefox-a&hs=GE6&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:eek:fficial&sa=X&ei=A84bUuaXI4Pk4APCsICoBA&ved=0CB4QpwUoBg&source=lnt&tbs=cdr:1,cd_min:,cd_max:8/1/2013&tbm=

Perhaps this is just 'fear based marketing', but sometimes I think even legitimate meteorologists are guilty of exaggerating the severity of foretasted winter storms.

To be honest, I think it's just a schtick to drive up sales/ratings respectively.

Hey, I hope they're right when it comes to the super bowl being in crazy weather in the Meadowlands. That would be a great messy game!

The last outdoor Super Bowl was XLIV in 2010, I believed it rained. They make it seem like it's never played outside. Since 2000 there have been 6 Super Bowls played outside. Not exactly rare. None where it snows though.
