While outside on my back porch I saw a weird light coming over the tree line.

The object was moving at a very low altitude and a very low speed. It was a very long object that made absolutely no mechanical noise. I heard some air moving around the object but heard no other noise. After a few seconds of looking at it fly over the house, I took out my phone and recorded a video of it. After videoing for about 30 seconds I stopped recording and ran inside to get my mother as a second witness. There was also a kind of rose gold colored aura coming from the back end of the object, but this could have been fumes glistening in the lights on the back of the object.

checking ADSB Exchange for playback at the data & time, there was some air to air refuelling going on directly over Angie, LA. A USAF KC-135 callsign JAKE01 was refuelling a US Navy P-8 Poseidon. Here's a screenshot...

Btw, there are two types of aerial refueling systems. The one used above between the P-8 and KC-135 is called the "flying boom." The other system is known as the "probe and drogue" system. With this system, the fueling aircraft plays out a hose with a stabilizing drogue (looks something like a large badminton shuttlecock) on its end. The pilot of the receiving a/c maneuvers his aircraft to insert what amounts to a pipe with a valve (probe) on its end into the drogue. The hose/drogue is usually placed in under wing pods on the tanker. It looks like this:

At night, there are multiple small tritium lights around the circumference of the drogue. I've never seen a night time probe and drogue refueling in person, but here is a UFO video of what I think is a tanker trailing a drogue at night.
