New tool ChimeIn makes all web sites commentable

ChimeIn is a novel tool (browser add-on/mobile app) that makes all web sites commentable:
https://www.chimein.co/

Might be useful for debunking when used on bunk web sites that do not allow commenting or heavily moderate comments.

Of course, the comments are only seen by people who have installed the same add-on, so it needs to become widely used before it becomes useful.

Wow!

That could be fun...especially for all those "in-the-know" websites that loudly complain
that the government is keeping information from us...
on sites in which they keep all dissenting voices from us...

There have been several tools like this over the years.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_annotation
Note the list of discontinued software. The problem is that they don't get many users, so very few pages have comments.
Wow! That is a (sadly) long list!

But it looks the problem is inertia...if one solid piece of software could get enough early momentum, get enough traction...it could be a very valuable addition to the amazing technology that is the 'net.

Sure, but history is littered with good intentions. It's a great idea, but nobody has figured out how to make it stick. People keep trying though. There are some web annotation tools specifically for skeptics:

https://www.mywot.com/

I used rbutr for over a year, but I almost never came across a page that had been annotated.
