Morgellons. Disembowling insect video. [Horsehair worm, nematomorph parasite]

Woman posted on Chemtrails Global Skywatch this (disgusting) video which seems to show someone pulling the intestines out of an insect or something. If I could identify the insect I would do some research, however I don't know what it is. Given that the person has the entire bottom half of the insect removed, but it's legs are still moving, it makes me think that whatever he's pulled out of it is also moving involuntarily, unless it is some type of parasite.

Anyone know what is going on here?

The insect looks like a katydid. The parasite looks like a nematomorph. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nematomorpha

This is probably off topic but I wonder about the psychological make up of a person who could do that to a writhing insect in order to prove something on You Tube. Was this made to demonstrate something else or is it a chemtrail believer thing?

Person claimed it was "morgellons" coming out of the thing, Lobster Johnson.
That troubles me. I think I read that the disease may be a combined disorder or even psychological (?). If this is the case then surely institutes such as the CDC/WHO are carrying out their own research without amateurs pulling living things apart. I wonder why people don't just report these things?

Indeed, it seems to be a locust's nematomorph.

Different species are known, for instance in France.

This kind of parasite produces proteins invading his definitive host's brain. This host is then forced to jump into water in order to let his parasite swimming away.

Indeed, nematomorphs live in water during their adult stage. Here, they can look for sexual partners.

I'd prefer it if people did not speculate about the psychological makeup of individuals. We know there are a lot of troubled people out there, nothing useful can come from discussing them individually, so let's just stick to the science.

It struck me as being unnecessarily cruel. As a sufferer of mental illness myself, I wasn't actually meaning to be derogatory but if it came across this way then I most certainly apologize.

I certain do not think that was your intent. However people in the Morgellons community tend to react very badly to discussion of mental state, and that creates an unhelpful adversarial state. So here I think the best thing to do is just explain what the worms are.
