How Antarctica debunks the flat earth

I would really love to explore Antarctica. If they just let some flat earthers go/fly across Antarctica they would hypothetically see there is no dome touching the ground and going into the sky and problem solved. They would also see Antarctica is not encircling the earth but is truly just another continent. But since antartica treaty is in place...
Not to debate, but just to point out: anyone is free to fly/go across Antarctica. The list of people who have done it is quite long. All it would take is a bit of motivation, and a chunk of money.

Here's a sad/interesting article about Henry Worsley, who died thirty miles short of making the first "solo, unassisted, unsupported crossing of the Antarctic continent":

And to get back on topic: hoowee, what an interesting discussion about stars and ting. ;)
The thing is, we have north pole 24 hour sun footage.. but we don't have south pole footage of that... and that would put this discussion to bed for good.. because that can only work on a ball earth.. you cannot have 24 hour sun on arctic and antarctic on a flat earth because antarctic on a flat earth is a giant wall of ice that surrounds the rest of earth..

What is your take on the South Pole web camera footage? They have archived time-lapse movies. For example, in the January 2013, they had a flag and a snow hut in the front of the camera, so you can see how the shadows rotate all way around them. And they do rotate anticlockwise, as the shadows do south of the Equator:

But there are Antarctic time lapse videos, as Trailspotter showed above. FEs don't seem to like them very much, or not as much as cartoons of the sun that only allow for ~7 hours of daylight anyway :)

FEs seem to doubt anything they can't experience themselves, so the best answer to this conundrum would surely be an Antarctic summer cruise?

can you not see the footage has been edited? Look at the shadows of flags on the snow.. they cut the footage why..

let me see a real timelapse of 24hr sun..

there should be hundreds of timelapses of 24hr sun on antarctica.. there is none.. there is one with a fake sun.. and these flags that are obviously edited footage.. look at the fooststeps..

I'm sure any true Scotsman would agree with you.

I'm not sure why you expect hundreds, but a quick search brought up quite a few nice examples. Here's a couple, have fun finding reasons to discount them ;)

Or getting a job there would be a good idea too: this page has come good advice on how to go about that:

http://www.coolantarctica.com/Community/find_a_job_in_antarctica.php

Also, some of the blogs people write while they're working there are an interesting read. This guy's details his journey getting there.

https://www.jeffreydonenfeld.com/blog/2012/11/moving-to-antarctica-leg-3-mcmurdo-station-to-amundsen-scott-south-pole-station/

Some other interesting Antarctica links:

Jon Johanson interview about his experience flying across it (and here)
Interview with Dick Smith (flew helicopter from North to South Pole)
A nice article on the actual sources of a lot of the Admiral Byrd stuff

PS The animation you posted of how the sun works above a flat earth doesn't seem to take into account reality, wherein the area of daylight would actually change by the day, throughout the year. Details on that here.

why woould you make a stupid editing error like this.. stop the second video at 1:00.. can you see the letters WEST.. BEHIND the mountain.. this is a layering problem.. creator of this video made a mistake and put the mountain layer after the txt layer.. thats why mountains go partially over the txt.. pay close attention to the mountain.. it's fake.. so is the sun.. looks cgi like.. also some shadows seem not to match position of the sun..

anyone who did any video editing sees this clearly.. first video is a little bit better.. but has the same music like the second one.. and since the second one is obviously fake makes me doubt the first one also.. Would love to have a way to confirm the first one was (if valid) taken at antarctic and not arctic.. but after seeing the second one I doubt it is genuine..

is anyone here good at analyzing video footage and can confirm the validity of first and especially second video?

look at the fooststeps..
They got covered in snow when the wind or a snow squall came up. So? Pretty common occurrence in winter climates.

Seems to me when presented with evidence contrary to belief your only option, other than admitting you are wrong, is to claim its fake.

The word "west" isn't a mistake. It's clearly in there on purpose to tell you what direction that is. There is no "layering" problem. If you think so, tell me why, logically, the word "west" would be put into the frame to look as nice as it does production wise.

[Also, note that the other direction labels are shown in the video as well, mixed in with the video to look nice]

is anyone here good at analyzing video footage and can confirm the validity of first and especially second video?
If you had the knowledge that this is indeed a "layering" problem, then why are you asking if others can verify these videos? You seem to claim you know there's an error, without any evidence.

Also, if you're claiming the sun is fake in this second video, then are these photos faked?

On the off chance you're not joking, the text isn't real. It's just a video effect. It goes behind the watch, too.

It's an extremely easy visual effect to do with a matte (mask). It just gives a slightly classier look to video titles.

Well, that's easy enough. From the video decription, it was taken at Scott Base, which is on Ross Island.

Here's a photo of Scott Base:

And here's a grab from the video:

those letters follow the irregular contours of the mountain perfectly.. while MOVING.. it's not just a square there.. therfore the mountain is most probably a layer and this is how letters are moving partially behind it... just as the watch is a layer and it does the same thing with it..

My opinion is this video is absolutley fake.. took plenty of timelapse videos myself and sun does not behave like that when interacting with clouds and such.. look how clouds and sun interact here..

Source: https://youtu.be/31PaNcRLK1E

I want an objective independent expert if he is here to analyze this video.. because I am skeptical such a video can be made at all.. so I am not a good person you guys should trust when I say the video is fake.. this is why I would like that a decent truth loving person with knowledge about these thing would do the analyzing..

my opinion from how much I know about video editing is.. it is fake..

And the first video similarly seems perfectly legit, shows a 360 degree view of a real place, follows the sun, the sun does not go down for a full 360 degrees (24 hours). No cuts in the video.

not so sure.. will take a closer skeptical look at it.. the thing that bugs me now is why does this video have the same music in it like the "fake one" does? I Put "" on fake because I think it is highly probable fake but cannot confirm 100%.. so.. just wondering whats going on here.. what are the odds the same music to be used.. if it turns out the first one is some kind of government funded work.. its all clear to me.. why the same music and all..

Yes, the text has been deliberately clipped to the shape of the mountain. Watch the tutorial video I showed you.

And you can create a mask to be any shape, not just a rectangle. It's extremely easy:

It's not an "error", as you call it. It's not something that can happen accidentally when you are adding titles. You have to do it deliberately, using a mask.

Seems like they were both made by Anthony Powell for his "Year on Ice" documentary. And that's like the theme music.

so the video has been fiddled with by someone with advanced video editing skills.. its actually not that easy.. its time consuming.. and don't get the point why not just put the txt above the mountain.. therefore I remain highly skeptical.. and maintain my position that this could be a layering issue.. and I'm sorry, but I don't "buy" that sun for a second.. I have seen more realistic suns in video games.. also pay attention to shadows..

The shadows all point towards the sun. You claimed that they don't, could you give an example? Do you really think it would be easy to edit a darkened night-time landscape to show realistic sunlight and shadows?

Of course, the scene is distorted by the wide angle lens. You need to correct it so that verticals are more or less straight. Rough and ready job here, although I can't quite apply enough correction without cropping the image severely:

You need to be a bit more specific than that. The sun looks fine to me, that's a typical flared sun for a wide angle.

There's nothing wrong with the shadows. If you think there is then prove it.

Oh.. I see.. thank you Mick.. So that makes it a problem for me.. especially now that I read some other work he did on IMDB.. very intersting movie summary for erebus.. something about a plane hitting "the mountain" in broad daylight.. hmm.. reminds me of those clames where it was the dome what they actually hit.. why hire someone like him.. who deals with real movies.. special effects and such to do that timelapse.. although 2016 definitley looks like updated 2015 version.. it's done better..

If any plain real person is reading this from antarcitica.. please.. just stick a flag into the snow.. point the camera into it.. and let's see that shadow do a full circle.. xD

Have you really never heard of the Mount Erebus disaster? Yes, the plane hit the mountain, because the flight path had been incorrectly entered into the computer, and a white mountain is more or less invisible against a white sky. Tell these people they flew into the dome:

well that sun always stays the same.. so it looks fake to me.. sorry.. this is how I always find the sun behave when I take timelapse of it.. like in this wide angle.. it changes.. flickers.. etc..

this is clearly not the same.. this sun changes colours, ray angles... interacts with clouds in much more complex way.. this looks real to me.. but it is taken at the wrong pole..
Again, you need to be more specific. If you are just saying that it looks wrong to you, then that's meaningless. I coudl equally say:

"this is clearly the same.. this sun changes colours, ray angles... interacts with clouds in the same way.. this also looks real to me.."

But without specific examples it's as meaningless as your statement.

Would I be right in assuming that you would claim ANY video to be fake if otherwise it proves the Earth is round?

Well.. I am sorry about those people.. may God have mercy on them.. I was refering to something else.. the reason why planes dont use antarctica as a shortcut...

Well.. you are correct.. I am very skeptical.. especially for mainstream materials.. if some guy named Joe Shmoe did the timelapse.. hes a real person.. and uploaded it on youtube I would assume he has no special interest.. or is not financed by someone who does.. then I would have no reason not to beleive it..

I just want the truth.. flat or round.. so far.. seems flat to me.. but hey.. I guess time will tell..
