Just saw this video in FaceBook Reels, supposedly taken "tonight" in Seabright, NJ. Video appears to show tracer rounds coming from an aircraft at night.

There is no time, no date, no destination by the video. It was done intentionally, so that no verification can take place. This was done for clickbaiting and not to want to know what could happen there. Than the owner claims he has more blured picture of other drone shootings. Thats not a file for metabunk.

Do tracer rounds look like that? From that angle and distance?
I'm inclined to call it fake.

Nonetheless, since it is here now, I found it posted on 4chan's /x/, where it was downloadable easily, so am sticking it here in case the FB Reel gets deleted. Not that it was posted there yesterday, so is at least that old.

I've seen folks here work miracles before, so seemed worth putting up for y'all to look at.

Kiro newsradio claims to have obtained the footage from a NJ police officer.

One video captured by a New Jersey police officer, obtained by KIRO Newsradio, shows what appears to be a larger drone, flying at a slow speed, shoot out or launch multiple smaller drones at a relatively high speed.

Someone posted this on reddit a few hours ago.

The Tik Tok video provides a location and a date: Middletown NJ by the bay, 12/12/24

One of the comments claims it's a planned training exercise

It sounds reasonable but I'm not really sure where "Warren Grove Training Ground" is (google sends me to "Warren Grove Range" and Warren Grove doesn't really seem to be close to the location, but I'm not from NJ)

I downloaded the video from the facebook reel and extracted the frames and I noticed a couple of oddities.

Video from FB (downloaded with "yt-dlp -f hd"):

At frame 70, the projectile seems to change direction (from roughly horizontal to like 20 degrees down), and frame 71 seems to be a duplicate frame. It would be nice to have the raw video to see if it shows these same features.

Possibly, it looks more like tracer rounds than a missile or rocket.

FWIW the main gun on the Apache has a cyclic rate of around 600 rounds per minute. Just eyeballing the timing a standard 4 to 1 tracer mix would fit.
could be a guided missile

could be an artifact of frame rate conversion

yes

If it is gunfire, tracers (and standard rounds) tend to deflect when they pass through a target/object.

I'm not saying it is gunfire, but the video isn't inconsistent with tracers.
