Claim: Confirmed drones over naval weapons station in New Jersey

ABC news reporting that there has been confirmed sightings of Drones over a Naval weapons station in New Jersey.

Naval weapons station 'EARLE' confirming that drones entered it's airspace but did not pose a threat.
Military folks are equally susceptible to mass hysteria. Until I hear they actually had radar tracks and clear visuals unambiguously showing drones, I am going to assume the "confirmation" is just some seaman at the station who misidentified conventional piloted aircraft or celestial bodies like every other video or picture that has been shared so far.

Agreed @MonkeeSage , this will be a good thread to start with if any more information comes to light.

they do have other equipment, but I'd like to see it named at least

"While no direct threats to the installation have been identified, we can confirm several instances of unidentified drones entering the airspace above Naval Weapons Station Earle," the statement said.
That limited extent of that statement, it would not be too surprising, if true. That statement would encompass kids with quad-copters being stupid. There are a lot of quad-copters out there, and a lot of kids who, if not stupid, at least do stupid stuff from time to time.

And WRT timing, were any places offering irresistable black friday deals on drones this year?

There are a lot of not-kids that do stupid stuff as well. Perennial adolescence appears to be a thing.

Boston Police say 42-year-old Robert Duffy of Charlestown and 32-year-old Jeremy Folcik of Bridgewater are facing trespassing charges, with additional charges possible.

Thirty-two-year-old Jeremy Folcik of Bridgewater and 42-year-old Robert Duffy of Charlestown are facing charges -- after they allegedly few a drone too close to Logan Airport Saturday night. But the charges, at least at this point, are simply for trespassing -- because they were arrested with a drone on the Boston Harbor Island known as "Long Island" inside the decommissioned Long Island Health Campus – and then tried to get away.

Heads up: If you're reading this and want to add your 2 cents, it's being discussed at https://www.metabunk.org/threads/drones-over-new-jersey.13770/post-330769 (even though Boston is not in New Jersey).
