Michael Inganamort, a Republican New Jersey assemblyman shares a video from one of his constituents from 1st December 2024. Filmed in Chester Township. He just accepts the claim from his constituent that there were no airplanes on the flight tracker app.

Inganamor transcript

This came from one of my constituents here in Northwest New Jersey and the video here is from Chester Township which is the municipality where I live and I used to be the Mayor and I'm in Chester Township at this very moment. It is a town in Western Morris County in the Northwestern part of the state.

I think what is most notable here is this video is from December 1st. We are talking two and a half weeks ago you can see the number of blinking objects flying through the sky there and when this was first shared with me on that very night of December 1st it clearly caught my attention. What the heck is going on here? Now days you can do a pretty good job of tracking the flights, the commercial airlines that are flying over out skies on the different applications on your phone.

That is what the videographer here did and were able to determine that these blinking lights were in fact not airplanes. We are working under the assumption that these are drones of some type. This was December 1st and this is basically what the night sky looks like in Northwest New Jersey every night since. Any from one, two up to twelve drones zipping around above out homes through our neighbour hoods, communities and towns.

I believe that the person is filming Morristown Airport air traffic pattern approximately 12 miles to the east of Chester Township.

ADSBExchange play back from the evening of 1st December 2024. Morristown Airport quite busy during the evening of the 1st December and especially with light aircraft in the airport circuit.

I've had a search for the filming location but drawn a blank. Not a lot to go on and a heavily wooded area around Chester Township. Perhaps one of the super sleuthers can find the filming location?

I was in Morristown filming from Morris County Central Park on Dec 7 and you can easily see aircraft inbound/outbound from Newark from there. A lot of aircraft flying under 10000ft in that area for both Morristown and Newark. Some for Teterboro, but less so. I don't think there was any point during the maybe 2hrs I was there that there was not like a half dozen airplanes visible in the sky simultaneously.

Example: https://photos.app.goo.gl/YjB2omC8DNQHahrh9

That is an Airbus A320 that starts around 5800ft above ground level and 14.5 miles away from the camera, that at first looks like it is slow moving "just over the tree line", inbound to Newark, going north over the Morristown area in order to loop around and approach EWR from the north. Chester is a little farther from EWR but I imagine still has a clear view of EWR traffic especially when the approach pattern from the south isn't just landing straight in from the south but instead doing the loop to land from the north, which looks like was the case on the evening of December 1.

That video also shows an example of a plane sort of "hovering" and "looking like a glowing orb" and "changing directions". The perspective is very close to straight down the flight path, starting off with the plane going slightly right of the line of sight, than turning slightly to the right so it is then flying slightly to the left of the line of sight.
