Black line in sky seen from plane (contrail?)

Brighton

Hello. I was flying over the Alps yesterday in a Boeing 767 and saw a black line on the sky which I couldn't identify. I have a video of it. Could someone advise me if it is a contrail?

Can you upload the video so that we can see it, and tell us where and what time it was filmed?

Contrails often look black when the sky behind them is brightly lit, so that would be my guess. Also contrails can cast shadows on lower clouds or even through the air itself.

See this thread: https://www.metabunk.org/explained-dark-contrails-behind-bright-planes.t5957/#post-147532

From a plane cruising at high altitudes, contrails behind other planes may sometimes appear dark while the planes themselves being sunlit.
