Bedminster, NJ. Trump National Golf Course, two Planes mistaken for Drones

It will be interesting to see how the believers rationalise the continuing presence of the exact same "mysterious lights" over NJ in a few months' (or years') time. Will they just stop looking? Will they pivot to "Well yes, these ones are clearly planes but the ones we saw last year were totally different"?
I agree. The drone flap is still going on for many. It will be interesting to see how they rationalise it after Trump is in the White House? The lady filming could film what she believes are drones night after night. For many it is a mindset.

From 4th January, 2025.

Taken 30 minutes ago leaving my house. These drones surprised me because I live close to Trump golf course and I hadn't seen any for a while. I did confirm they were not airplanes by the flightradar24 app.

There were 2 planes overhead at the time given by the witness they match location and direction as per the video.

If you Google Tina Dadas then an address is easily found and the house in Bedminster matches the video.

The video was posted at 12:40am UTC on January 5 and she said it was "half an hour ago".

I would say her estimate was 10 minutes out or so.

I've noticed that a lot of people say they "checked flight radar" but then use the playback and fail to account for time zones.

Edit: the more accurate timestamp wasn't posted when I looked at those.

At 23:38 there are two planes on very similar paths - one small jet flying straight over and an airliner curving north towards Newark:

Well so much for me trying not to dox people, I know the data is public but I am not sure whether its open season facebook sleuthing here or not..

That's a tough one. In this case the original post is on a public group with 84k members dedicated to solving the New Jersy drone problem. Anyone on Facebook can see it:

She makes no effort to hide who she is in the post. So, if she goes to go on a public page about drones to spread misinformation (knowingly or not) about drones based upon her location near a Trump golf course and her confirming there were no aircraft in the area, at what point is she nearly doxing herself? I would expect a number of people on the group page know exactly where she lives, one guy in the comments knew she was in her driveway and where she was looking.

Just a side note, but looking at a few more comments on other videos from this group page we find a @Kyle Ferriter maybe trying to talk some sense ;) ?

It's a strange world where lots of people live their lives virtually online, sharing every detail of their lives, yet want privacy when it suits them.

@Mick West , do you want to enunciate policy on this?

If people post their names and approximate locations locations in a public forum, then it's reasonable to use that information to get a more exact location, especially if it gives a direction.

I'd draw the line at posting the actual address. Coordinates and screenshots are, I think, acceptable. If someone is tech-savvy enough to use that to get the address, then they could also easily look it up. It took literally ten seconds to go from her Facebook post to getting her address and a Google Street view of the house.

Looks like the Facebook post this Bedminster thread is based on is one I was active on and I did point out those two planes as possibilities but didn't so as far as to get a specific location. Nice to see it's conclusively resolved.

For the other thread @NorCal Dave screenshotted I was able to determine that he was facing east because a couple of the lights he labeled as drones are readily identifiable as Jupiter and Capella (plus a few of the other bright stars near those two). That Facebook group is a continuous stream of posts of easily identifiable airplanes and helicopters, and occasional celestial object. There are maybe a dozen people in the group who are doing the same thing I am to varying degrees. Tom Gilbert there has helped on a lot of them. Impossible to address all the posts just because of how many there are, and most don't give details that would enable conclusive aircraft identification. At a certain point it's not worth it. I only go on every couple days and look at a few of the top posts. I'm also a little disconcerted by how many times I've seen people favorably cite Steven Greer and Chris Bledsoe and holograms from "Project Blue Beam".

I deliberately didn't post the address. When someone's location is so easily accessible (in the top five Google hits) I don't think that counts as "doxing".

As a Brit I find it really weird how often you can find someone's exact address just by Googling their name and state. You can't usually do that in the UK.

I'm a Brit too and I was a little surprised which is part of why I felt off about posting a location also because it's one of those US mansions so it's completely obvious which houses it is even with a basic location.

I've been relying on realtor photos for some NJ stuff because the houses are big and remote and don't often have good street view.
