On 19 December 2016 at 20:14 CET, a truck ramming attack killed twelve people and injured 49 others[1] in the Christmas market next to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church at Breitscheidplatz in the Charlottenburg district of Berlin. Police and the Public Prosecutor are treating it as a terrorist incident. The perpetrator is believed to be on the run and expected to be armed. A Pakistani asylum seeker was arrested and later released due to the lack of evidence, while the original truck driver was found shot dead. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant claimed responsibility for the attack via Amaq News Agency.[1][2] However, the group provided no evidence to support its claim it had directed the attack.
The first significant conspiracy theory claim comes from long-time false flag theory writer Stephen Lendman, and repeated by Iran's state run media site PressTV

Stephen Lendman, author and journalist from Chicago, told Press TV's Top 5 that the attack in a Berlin Christmas market may be a state-sponsored "false-flag" operation to push Germany to play a more active role in the so-called war on terror in the Middle East region.

The journalist opined that "very possibly dirty CIA hands were involved in what happened in Berlin."

"Germany is a very important US ally and an attack like this could have been staged to get Germany aroused about ... terrorism to [keep] Germany on board of America's imperial agenda in the Middle East," Lendman said on Tuesday.

The European country has been "part of America's imperial wars allied with the rogue regional states like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Israel and the other [Persian] Gulf states," he noted.

According to Lendman, "The timing [of the incident] coincides with the liberation of Aleppo, with the assassination of Russia's ambassador to Turkey and with the Electoral College in America confirming [US President-elect Donald] Trump's election as America's 45th president."

The Berlin attack came less than a month after the US State Department called for caution in markets and other public places across Europe on the holiday season.
PressTV is generally very critical of the US, and has entertained many conspiracy theorists in the past, including Veterans Today who claim that the Sandy Hook school shootings were a hoax.

It coincides with my wife's birthday too.

Aside from a game of "what else happened today or yesterday?", I fail to see the point, especially concerning Trump's winning the Electoral College vote.

Like most conspiract theorists, Lendman is connecting dots, watermarks, coffee stains, and flyspeck.

One of the things that will clearly take off is that the ID of the perpetrator was once again left at or near the scene.

this thread is for documenting info so if you could link and quote that 'news' please do so.

German government orders media to pixelate image of Berlin terror suspect. Don't they want to catch him? INSANE.
However, on the official website of the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA, Federal Criminal Police Office), there is no such directive. In fact, they use an non-pixelated picture there and ask the public for assistance in the now public manhunt.

Can anyone help me out here? Where did the government order the media to use a pixelated image? I've seen a few pixelated pictures today but that was before the manhunt, when they were still unsure about the suspect (they already got it wrong once). It might have been because there was no manhunt underway and according to the guidelines of the German presserat (press council) it is inadvisable to publish an individuals full name and photo if not explicitly allowed (in case of a manhunt for example).

Conspiracy theories have since appeared online questioning the situation.

One wrote: 'Why would the driver of the truck that drove into the Berlin Christmas market leave his ID under the seat? Seems too convenient.'

Another said: 'It seems suspicious to me that Berlin truck driver that killed people would leave his wallet in the truck as he fled the scene.'

German police have been accused of a series of blunders in the investigation. They wasted valuable time having arrested the wrong man before realising the wallet of their chief suspect was in the truck.

A few more on a similar vein from Thezerohedge.com

It seems incompetence allows the way for conspiracy!

These terrorists are smart enough to out wit sophisticated defence systems and intelligence agencies but dumb enough to ALWAYS leave their incriminating identification papers and passports behind.

Mossad job 100%

They detained the CIA/Mossad operative actually responsible, debriefed him, then let him go.

They then planted the ID for their patsy, and he won't live long enough to testify.

Same as it ever was.

It is hard to see a credible motive for CIA or Mossad involvement. A random attack by a Tunisian Sunni muslim, would not likely affect Germany's foreign policy toward shiite Iran or its degree of involvement, if any, in the Syrian conflict. If anything, it would affect Germany's refugee policy.

Exactly. Why is nobody (AFAIK) pointing fingers at the AfD?

Ms Petry, the leader of the anti-Muslim party Alternative for Deutscheland (AfD), argued that there was a link between Mrs Merkel's open door migration policy and terrorism in Germany.

"This is a terrible day, but it is not completely unexpected given the warnings from the security authorities, including about the prospect of an attack on Berlin," she told the Telegraph.

"We cannot go on denying there is a link between Merkel's migration policy and these attacks, or we will prepare that ground for more of these attacks."

CBS morning news (New York) just now said he was shot when police pulled him over and asked for ID.

A thought occurred to me earlier today concerning this.

[tonguecheek] With all these 'false flags" happening over the past 10+ years which blame Muslim extremists, sooner or later there will be a faction of Islam that has had enough and will start a real campaign of terror against the west.
One wonders how the intrepid conspiracy whistleblowers on the internet will be able to tell the difference when this comes about?[/tonguecheek]
