Strange Light Caught On Camera

This video was captured around 4am two nights ago. My family is freaking out about this. This did not trigger the flood light, the camera is motion activated and the sprinkler is on. Ideas?

Based on the way it moves and the bright light, I think it's something, possibly water, on the front of the camera, being lit by the IR lights on the camera.

Can you post a photo of your camera taken from the lawn?

The shape of the bright area is not droplet-like, but the movement sure is. It seems the bright square is only a part of the droplet. It's surrounded by a darker shape that is droplet-like. So perhaps the bright area is a refraction effect.

The sprinkler spraying towards the camera would certainly suggest that.

@ParanormalInSeattle Is there any footage available from before the start of this clip, or is this the start of it?

This video shows a vaguely similar kind of square shape from a water drop on the lens.

The original video also has some square-ish shapes in the lower left during the second pass of the sprinkler. Here's a sequence of three frames starting at 20:09

The crinkly edges of the shape reminds me of the LED in a flashlight

Which you can see if you focus the beam.

Thanks all! There is no footage before this, I believe the sprinkler passing is what caused the camera to activate. I do have other videos that include similar bright shapes with a black Halo oh, and I also have a video they sent me from last night where there is a similar bright shape but this time it doesn't move. The correlation between all these videos is water as the sprinklers are on when these shapes appear oh, and I also personally believe that it's water. But my family really wants to believe that it's paranormal so I was hoping to get some other suggestions. Thanks all!

It looks exactly like a water droplet running down the front of the camera. The droplet can act like a lens and is focusing some light.

I wouldn't say "exactly." Can we show another example? It's got an odd shape, and initially moves very slowly, suggesting a quite large drop. The left side of the image gets water on if from the sprinkler, but no flare up. So, while it almost certainly IS a water drop, it's not clear exactly what is happening. It would be interesting to see the geometry of the camera, and the IR light source, and what is in front of the camera.

It's possible an internal specular reflection of the light source was involved. A reflection on the interior surface of the droplet.

That could make a light source next to the lens visible which is normally not visible. Just reverse the light path in this illustration.

Perhaps the lens was dusty and when the sprinkler first hit the lens, a large drop formed around the dust particles. Much larger than usual.

Fair enough. I’ll put it this way then: what is seen is so much like what I would expect from a drop of water creeping down the camera lens that I feel no need to explore any other possibility.

If they needed something definitive they could go out in the night and put some droplets of water on the camera and see what it looks like.
