Good to hear he is still alive. Maybe he can shed some light on who shot him and what words were exchanged. I'm not going to accuse the CT'ers of doing this, of course, without any evidence. But lets just say I would not be too surprised to find out it was a CT.

Even if it wasn't a Conspiracy Theorist who shot him, I'm still mighty pissed off those people at Global Skywatch take pleasure in this. Until I first heard about chemtrails, I would never have believed such people existed.

This meteorologist seems pretty young. I had a view of his facebook page, and it seems filled with his enthusiasm for weather. It's a shame CTs out there have to call him a liar behind his back and wish him ill.

Why would they even think that a TV weather guy would need to be "in on it" ?

I mean, the more people that know any "secret," the harder it is to keep that secret.
If mythical Illuminati types are really forcing pilots to secretly "spray" stuff, for some weird reason,
why tell the nice newsreaders at KCEN all about your secret plans? I just don't follow the reasoning.

p.s. Update: Vague news about a "person of interest" in custody in Waco.

This is insane. I feared this would come. This is why I'm at Metabunk and why I care about the lies told. Again, we know nothing about the shooter yet, but based on the comments, the mentality is there.

Yes it is not good to point the finger at this stage though. What I will say is that in recent weeks more than one Facebook group has been set up to take action against "lying meteorologists" on TV.

Chances are this incident is nothing to do with such threats, but I do know that screenshots have been passed on to the right people.

Very much true. But no matter the motive, saying "Karma" is like saying he deserved it for his made-up crime.

I do think a lot of it is just Internet muscles, but if some of them are even half serious they've got issues that go far beyond gullibility.

Anyone know what "I pulled (his/her) card from the jump and it went bye-bye" means?

When you Google Chemtrails, Waco, Texas, here are the most interesting results. There are chemmies there that the authorities might want to talk to. The poster of the You Tube video doesn't look the the sketch of the suspect, unless he shaved his head and chin, and learned to scowl.

I didn't see the press conference but I haven't seen anything yet on a chemtrail connection. While discussing sites applauding this incident because weather people are involved in a mass cover up is on topic pointing out potential suspects is not helpful.

Given that they seem to have no leads, I think any information is helpful. This would give them something to check out and cross off. A lot of people, and that could include a lot of law enforcement people, have never heard of this conspiracy theory. Granted, it could be embarrassing if it turns out to be a random attack or a personal grievance. On the other hand, if you are saying it should be communicated directly to law enforcement and not posted here, feel free to delete it.
I found the Waco webtip page, and submitted it there.

sorry Steve - I can't agree - IMO thinking "we" have any insight into this, without any actual evidence, is both presumptuous and dangerous.

Let the police do their job.

Yeah, let's remember what happened when people on the internet played internet detective with the Boston bombing. Innocent people, some of them in fact victims, lost jobs and leases because people on the internet, "just thought the police would find any insight useful."

There's a special place in hell for people who say a shooting victim deserved what he got, but they don't need their lives torn apart by unjustified police interest.

Yes indeed....we as a group might be particularly "sensitive" because the shooting victim was a meteorologist, and a prominent TV news celebrity in that community.

But until a complete investigation is concluded, we will not know the full aspects of this crime, and the motives.

Jacob Wycoff (https://www.facebook.com/4cast4you) is a meteorologist that enjoys doing battle with the "chemtrail" crowd on his facebook page, he has been in contact with Patrick Crawford's wife and has passed on the global skywatch comments to her. At this time no one knows the motive, I agree with MikeC and Landru that speculation on our part is not a good idea. I made the post above not as an accusation against the shooter, but to highlight the atmosphere being fostered by groups like Global Skywatch.

Bottom line is nobody knows who did it or their motive at the moment, outside the perp and maybe the police. The law rarely reveal any real details of leads being followed, unless they are seeking specific information or suspects, to do so could well lead to the suspect having time to evade arrest or at least construct a false alibi leading to the collapse of the case.

It could well be a crazed chemtrailer; but it could just as easily be an enraged former boyfriend of his wife, a celebrity stalker, a random nutter, a former colleague with a grudge, the result of a bad debt.... any reason we could care to name. And whilst it is fun to speculate and play amateur detective, I personally think a lot more evidence is needed before any group or individual is placed in the frame.

Although I am more than sickend by some of the comments I've seen from some chemtrail and conspiracy groups over the last 24 hrs, and I hope the investigating plod have taken notice.

First, nice to hear that this Patrick Crawford fellow is in stable condition.

Also, nice to know that he was able to clearly declare that the shooter was not known to him.
(though that does concern me a bit re. making a CT scenario seem a bit more likely)

Words were exchanged...I'm guessing Crawford has communicated them to police (?)...
(I haven't seen anything on that yet...but that info could likely help explain motive)

The police sketch of the suspect is remarkable. I couldn't do such a nice drawing if you
sat me in from of the perp for 6 hours! One interesting point: he's bald as a cue ball,
which makes the initial report of "receding hairline" look like the understatement of the year
(and yes, I guess it's understandable, since perp was wearing a hoodie...but still pretty funny)

As always, it will be interesting to see how that seemingly brilliant sketch ends up resembling
    who eventually gets arrested.

And yes, while I can certainly agree with those "sickened," I can't pretend to be surprised...
as one who has been watching this sad thread for a long time now...

These days most of them are made electronically, by programs like these. Sketch artists are expensive - basically a full time specialist who either doesn't actually work full time, or who you're not using for their specialty most of the time. The software is generally a few hundred dollars a year to keep the license active. Even before the software, most departments had dropped their artist and replaced him with a paper Identi-kit.

They keep the "hand drawn" look to avoid burying the image in the uncanny valley where it will never resemble anyone.

This happened in Texas...."It's Another Country"....(I think that was once a marketing slogan for their "secession" drive)....
...though I could be mistaken....and be "wrong"!!

YEARS ago, when I was really new at Continental Airlines, I flew as a Flight Engineer with a Captain who resided in Waco, Texas. This guy was, how can I say this "politely"?

He was an obvious BIGOT....every sentence that came from his mouth showed his bigotry.

Mick....you may wish to excise this.....but AS I worked on the DC-10 with him, one event has STUCK in my memory. A VERY nice Flight Attendant came up to the cockpit, brought us our food and drinks....and this "Captain" told some sort of joke....harmless, "toss-away" sort of joke.

AFTER this very nice young person (female) left, he said "I made a nigger laugh".

This BLEW me away!!!! Back then, I did not have the fortitude to STAND UP to him! Also, likely at this time, early 1980s, was there "backing" at all. Of course, is different nowadays.

OK....THAT was a brief message of MY OWN experience, glad I could share it with y'all....

Interesting that a group of people like Skywatch who want to save humanity are open to the idea of generalised violence against it.

I totally agree with the comments about not "helping" with the investigation, I'm fairly certain they will get enough false leads without clouding it up with internet sleuthing. Without knowing what the motives are behind the shooting, there's no point barking up the wrong tree by assuming it's a CT. There's a whole lot of reasons this could have happened.

Having said that, though, it's disturbing to read those comments on Skywatch FB site.

Well I guess the cat is out of the bag now. I think it was really a matter of time though. The CTs were certainly loud about it, and I suspect that like pilots, a lot of meteorologists are aware that there are people like these out there--probably not to the extent of supporting violence--but there you have it.
