    Understood, no worries! Thanks.

Just out of curiosity, do you mind if users (infrequently) request a different username? If so, might I be flux instead?

    Pre 1995 Persistent Contrail Archive

Found this one recently browsing the Brubaker collection at UIC. (Got completely lost time-walking through my old stomping grounds on the north side of Chicago. We used to shop here regularly.) Pipers Alley Mall and Dominick's grocery store, circa 1978

How Doing Research can Lead Both In and Out of the Rabbit Hole

Deja vu!^ ;) I'd also peeked earlier at Google trends and did a news archive search out of curiosity. Even if MSM usage is increasing (however you want to define MSM), a significant amount of the stories/headlines are incorrectly using the term to push agendas (usually political) or present...

    European Union -vs- Monsanto

That's really not the case here, so I don't think it's a valid comparison. http://www.aaas.org/sites/default/files/AAAS_GM_statement.pdf

Debunked: Nasa: Strange Markings Across The Globe 'Might Have Been Made By Aliens'

Depending on what reader you're using, the page number might not match the document. I did a poor job of explaining though (I'll blame the NyQuil).

Debunked: Nasa: Strange Markings Across The Globe 'Might Have Been Made By Aliens'

Probably just a typo; it's on page 242. Edit: the picture, I mean; the quoted text begins on page 241.

Fireball Over Mexico City - Space Junk? [Sunset plane and contrail]

I've often wondered how much variation exists in casual usage. To me, "space junk" is synonymous with orbital debris attributed to human activities.

Fireball Over Mexico City - Space Junk? [Sunset plane and contrail]

The northern hemisphere on average gets a better deal than the southern hemisphere -- but many bolides are stragglers, not associated with any particular shower. I'd imagine the graphic Mick posted still applies. Major Meteor Showers For meteor observers, those located in the northern...

Fireball Over Mexico City - Space Junk? [Sunset plane and contrail]

It looks like it's disintegrated by the end. Hard to be sure from the video. Maybe due to composition of the object (or maybe not). Can fireballs appear in different colors? Vivid colors are more often reported by fireball observers because the brightness is great enough to fall well within...

    Paranoia Shortfall?

"There's all this terrifying stuff inside your body, but lucky for you we're selling these dubious, exorbitantly priced, unregulated supplements which we believe might help." Typical scare pitch. When you investigate the names and websites involved, all you find is a parade of alt-med nonsense...

Fireball Over Mexico City - Space Junk? [Sunset plane and contrail]

Fireballs like that don't stand out as much during daylight hours but otherwise appear the same. Meteors on average are typically very small, from grain-of-sand size to small pebbles, generally less than a gram. The ones in these videos are just more substantial. The main reason I'd posted...

Fireball Over Mexico City - Space Junk? [Sunset plane and contrail]

For additional reference: A couple of new videos captured a daytime meteor over Canada. These clearly illustrate how quickly meteors zip across the sky, traveling at tens of thousands of kilometers per hour. This fireball was estimated to be 50-100cm.

Apparently people posted this on 9gag and ATS a year ago. [link] There are older clips on YouTube as well.

Debunked: Simpsons Syria 'premonition'...? [old flag]

To correct what I stated earlier, the stars do appear red in a better quality copy of the episode. I still don't think it's an intentional reference to Syria. People read too much into minutiae.

Debunked: Agenda 21, ICLEI, Sovereignty, UN, Depopulation

Do you honestly think readers will be swayed by Rosa Koire's chosen political affiliation alone? What's truly important is whether or not her claims are properly substantiated by appropriate evidence. Facts are established by objectively examining available evidence, not viewing them through a...

Debunked: BLM land grab in Texas

It's appropriate that the claim has been marked as debunked because, contrary to the news stories you're describing, the BLM isn't arbitrarily confiscating land it didn't already possess. There's zero evidence of that to date. Those with property line disputes can have their day in court, and...
