Solved: "Alien" with "shadow" on the Moon [Debris in Camera]

I don't see the "alien" artifact in any of these slides and if it's an artifact from decades ago why is it surfacing just now?

Why does the image appear to move across the screan and rotate a bit counter clockwise, then clockwise, if its a fixed artifact. Shouldn't it appear the same way in each photo.

Interesting video:

(added to the end of the OP, looks like you can't play a video twice on a page).

I'd say that to "some" it may give the illusion of "moving across the surface of the Moon" but of course, this is easily seen as nonsense.

Appears that this bit of debris was moving, in relation to the imaging sensors that recorded the Moon terrain. Closer to the focal point. Again, likely due to vibration, or some relevant factors (spacecraft motion, even in a Zero-Gee environment, will exert minor forces due to acceleration, when spacecraft attitude is changed).

It's not that it's moving across the surface of the moon that befuddles me, its why does the artifact appear in different places on the image and why does it rotate clockwise and counterclockwise. Does this mean the dust particle isn't stationary and that its floating around in the optics

I do not see the black "blob" rotating at all. It seems to move a bit, from left to right. Every time the camera shutter is "clicked" there is a vibration, internally. This could certainly account for the apparent "shifting" of this bit of debris. (Only one hypothesis, there could certainly be others).

The rotating only happens in the first few seconds if you watch it closely

It's just moving very slightly, probably from the vibration of the camera shutter. It's in approximately the same places on each photo. The photos are of different places.

Like to know the source of those "film-strips". Looks (to me) as if there were a LOT of debris in the cameras. Again this is not unexpected, for the time-period. I'm sure that the scientists and analysts AT THE TIME simply disregarded these anomalies, knowing them for what they were.

It is only NOW that "conspiracy theorists" attempt to make something out of these...a bit pathetic, if you ask me.

Because none of this is particularly important. There's no need to catalog ever speck of dust.

its a camera floating in space. I could be wrong but I imagine if youre floating in space you don't stay 100% horizontal at all times. ?

It's a speck of dust. It's not floating in space, it's stuck against the glass. It's just moving due to vibration of the glass, probably from the shutter.

I took three of the original frames and put them in Photoshop, layers on top of each other. Inverted the layers, and set the top two layers to "Multiply"

This has the effect that anything that was black in all three images comes through as white.

Most of the specks are very small. The "jellyfish" is the only on that leaps out. Things are more apparent if you zoom in:

The one in the lower left there is the fourth one in the NASA image:

It might be inside the camera housing, but that doesn't mean it can't be floating since the entire thing is floating in space.

Yes, I suppose it could be slowly floating across the field of view. Either way it's in the camera.

This is the camera:

: ) I didn't mean the dirt was floating I meant the camera was floating in orbit. <the ship thing the camera is in

Yeah, this is definitely a glitch in the camera module or lens. I investigated after I saw the orginal video and I found more similar shape.. 18 in total, all in a perfect straight line. So was apparent there were no giant humanoid aliens..lol. I made a video and posted it on youtube.

Excellent video! Thanks for posting!
