Explained: Burnt Cars on California Beach [TV Set]

A video of a guy driving along a California beach littered with burnt cars (and a Helicopter) is getting shared on Facebook with the implication that it's the result of the recent fires.

While the location is actually pretty close to where the fires were in Malibu it is actually a set for the TV Show American Horror Story. A fan account shared video the of the set being constructed in July 2018:

This is a great example of someone(s) going completely off the rails.

Following your clues, Mick, I found the following website with all sorts of photos of the set. As best I can tell, this was set up in the parking lot of Point Dume State Beach.

This photo shows the distinctive Point Dume cliff at the south end of the beach and you can see the red roof of the concession/restroom just below it. You can see your bus/car crash in the distance to the left.


Do I need to point out that source material's "directed energy weapon" attack does NOT feature melted aluminum wheels? Of course not.
