I'm a painter and an artist.
My current project is to paint several support hooks for a gun and knife exhibit. They all need a unique color and look. (haha, I used the word "look").... to somehow blend-in and go away (not noticed, visually).
    I told the designer(s)...this....
"I'll just bring all the necessary paints, to do anything.
Magical invisible paint would be awesome... but I can't buy it, because everybody's stash seems to have vanished."

    Linking some stuff together.....

Hawaii eruption lava flows make it to the sea, and the idea that the lava coming out of the earth is obviously going to make it (the earth) flatter, which I THOUGHT I just made up but no.....

see - it's all coming together!!

Ever since they switched Google Translate from hand-made translation matrices to an AI that learns languages by comparing websites that are available in multiple languages, it's been overall better, but has picked up some weird edge-case errors. However, it's also very fast at fixing them.

Generally speaking, reporting on errors like this in Google's AIs will generally erase them, because presumably the news articles will accurately translate the problem term (and it'll get primary sources in both languages where the problem happens so tons of comparison material), and with lots of sites repeating the news that correct translation will wash out whatever weird error the AI came up with before. So by the time news like this goes mainstream, the algorithm may have already corrected itself.

Notice most of the languages in the article where it translates to random nonsense are not fixed yet, because the articles don't pair it with an accurate translation.

Also, Google will still go into its algorithms and add manual exceptions for embarrassing glitches. I'm guessing they don't want a return to the old algorithm hijack days of the Miserable Failure and Litigious Bastard googlebombs.

To paraphrase the old joke about whether computers should be masculine or feminine (see here)

Flat Earthers could be of the feminine gender because:

    1. No one but them understands their internal logic.

    2. The language they use to communicate with other flat-earthers is incomprehensible to everyone else.

    3. Even the smallest mistakes by anyone else are stored in long term memory for possible later review.

    4. As soon as you make a commitment to one version, you constantly find yourself under attack from other versions.

But it might be concluded that computers should be masculine because:

    1. In order to do anything with them, you have to sink to their level.

    2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves.

    3. They are think they've solved "the problem", but they ARE the problem.

    4. As soon as you commit to one version, you realize that if you had waited a little longer you could have gotten a better version!

I had been seeing commercials for Creation Museum recently, so I took a look at their website. As a person that finds the tales told in the Bible to be without merit and incredibly implausible, in my humble opinion, I found the website's claims to be humorous. (No offense to those of faith that might be offended by my amusement)

I think thats a bit harsh to be honest. The bible is folklore; a mix of legend, philosophy and oral history. I'm an atheist, but I do find the whole bronze age world view that texts like the old testament presents and interesting insight into a pre-scientific era mindset. Much the same way as the English folk tales of the likes of Arthur, Robin Hood or Hereward The Wake reflect aspects of English early medieval culture. Or Chinese writings such as The Journey To The West and The Water Margin tales shine a dim light on early days of that culture.

These documents are in no way to be deamed as flawless historical documents, or even the worse, the ineffable word of anybody, but their place in the folk tradition of humanity and of the mindset of early peoples should not be dismissed that easily.
